About me

My name is Valerie and I am the creative force behind Habin Jones Photography. Many people often ask me about the origin of this name. When I was a little child, I was always very imaginative and had already come up with a name for my creative self: Habin Jones. Together with my friends, we would come up with stories, filming each other with my dad’s camcorder creating our own little movies. I even took took that camcorder to school sometimes, recognizing already back then how important it was to document moments in life for years to come. Many years later, during a sabbatical and self-discovery phase, my passion for crafting stories with photography resurfaced and I decided to take it to another level. It was also the moment when the name Habin Jones, a symbol of my creative and passionate younger self, came back to memory.

Since 2019, I live in Berlin (Germany), I love hanging out with my friends and family, and going on adventures with my husband. I would describe myself as a very curious person who enjoys the little moments in life and loves to explore the world. I grew up in small town near hanover, went for a high school to the U.S. at a very young age and later I did my Master's degree in Marketing in Australia to meet new people from different backgrounds. In Australia I lived in a city called Surfers Paradise as it has always been my dream to live right next the beach.

Next to traveling (and taking loads of photos), I also love dogs and coffee (who doesn't?), yummy food, and I'm a huge sports fan: yoga, dancing, fitness… you name it! I constantly try to grow and dedicate my full energy and attention to what I do - showing up with passion, drive & humor, believing that there is always something to learn everyday and by everyone.

When you're a photographer, you get to be a witness to the most intimate moments of people's lives. It's so important to capture those moments not just with your camera, but with a smile on your face and a genuine interest in the person(s) you're photographing. I love being able to capture the beauty of human spirits and lovestories through my lens - it's what really excites me. I am also very passionate about fashion and editorial photography as it allows me to become creative together with other brands and creatives. I get excited about photography so much that it's been like a dream come true to be able to combine my passion for travel, meeting new people and photography into one job.

    Valerie and her sister Alexa were such a joy to work with for our summer 2024 wedding. From the first call, they made us feel so comfortable and really took the time to understand what we were looking for. On the day of the wedding, they were so sweet and calming—it honestly felt like we had friends there taking our photos!

    Neither of us is super used to being in front of a camera, but they made it all feel easy and fun. They were also super flexible when we wanted to add an extra hour, which took a lot of stress off our shoulders. And then, when we saw the preview of our photos? Wow. Die Planung vorab war einfach super entspannt und man hat gemerkt, dass Valerie schon sehr viel Erfahrung hat. Sie hat viele Ideen eingebracht und die Planung ging somit leicht von der Hand. Das Shooting am Meer hat einfach so viel Spaß gemacht. Obwohl der männliche Teil etwas fotoscheu ist, haben sich direkt alle bei Valerie wohl gefühlt. Sie hat einer sehr liebe, entspannte und kommunikative Art an sich. Weiterhin hat sie einen super Blick für tolle Motive und Lichtverhältnisse. Auch bei der Trauung selbst sowie bei dem Zusammenkommen auf dem Vorplatz nach der Trauung hat Valerie ganz tolle Momente eingefangen.
